Repeat DUI Offender arrested After High Speed Chase

A man is in custody after he was witnessed punching his passenger in the face and leading CHP Officers on a high Speed Chase onto private property where he was eventually arrested after scaring the property owners. CHP officer Greg Tassone says Nicholas Attleberger of Cool California was witnessed by a CHP officer in Penn Valley going eastbound on highway 20 in a Chrysler 200 at a very high rate of speed. The officer made a u turn and started to conduct a traffic stop.

As the officer approached the car, Attleberger attempted to drive off but he still had the parking break on which was holding back the vehicle..

At that point Attleberger fled at high speed through Penn Valley to Hwy 20 and the pursuit went into Grass Valley and onto Highway 49 south. The pursuit ended as Attleberger turned onto Smith Road which is a few roads south of McKnight Way. At Blue Jay Court Attleberger ran into a locked gate and bailed out of the vehicle and headed for a nearby house.

Attleberger was eventually taken into custody and was arrested for Evading a police officer with disregard for safety, Battery on a person, DUI and another Felony DUI charge for having a prior DUI within 10 years prior. His Bail was set at $75-thousand dollars.”
