Rescue at Hoyts Crossing

It took a team of four firefighters and a rescue helicopter to lift an injured hiker out of the South Fork of the Yuba River Canyon Tuesday evening just before 6:00 PM. Rescue 84 of the Nevada County Consolidated Fire Department answered the call and an H20 helicopter completed the rescue of a hiker with a broken leg. Engineer Dean Weathers was on duty when the call from Hoyts Crossing came in.

The ground team hiked out and returned the station. No additional patient information is available at this time.
