Road Work Continues Throughout Nevada County

Whether it’s major highways, residential streets, or even sidewalks, there is road work going on all over Nevada County. In the unincorporated areas, work has finished on Brunswick Road and the winter “slipout” has been repaired. County Principal Civil Engineer Joshua Pack says now the focus is on Nevada City Highway, where sidewalks are being put in over the hill from Nevada City to Grass Valley…

This project fills the gap, which means you’ll be able to walk all the way from Nevada City to the Brunswick Basin without having to step in the roadway. Meanwhile, residential streets have not been forgotten. Pack says over 18 miles of roadway are being repaired with what’s called a ‘microsurface’, which is a chemical treatment that doesn’t take hours in the sun to dry…

Work on both projects should be done toward the end of the month. In addition to the county projects, Grass Valley is working on East Main Street and Brunswick Roads, and CalTrans has projects along Highways 20 and 49.
