Roadside Vegetation Mgt Tracking Available

Over 200 miles of roads in Nevada County are set for vegetation fuels reduction this year. And the Public Works Department has received a number of inquiries about if or when work will be done in their neighborhoods. So, Office of Emergency Services Administrative Analyst Jenn Tamo says they now have a new tool available to access the information on the Ready Nevada County Dashboard….

Last year, Nevada County was awarded an 868-thousand dollar Cal Fire grant for the work. Tamo also reminds residents that Public Works is responsible for maintaining only around 25-percent of the roads in the county, or around 560 miles. The county has applied for a FEMA grant for treating an additional 300 miles.
