Roamin Angels Toy Drive

Just like Santa and the Post Office, neither rain, no sleet nor snow will keep the Roamin Angels from having their 23rd Annual Toy Drive.  Working with the local Salvation Army, they distribute toys to many children who might not otherwise have a Christmas.  This year the club has adopted 40 families and will be providing them with food, clothing, toys and household necessities.  But they need help.  The club donates money from its annual “Cruisin’ the Pines” Car Show on the second weekend in September, but also looks to the community to support this effort.  In the past, the club has received donations of toys and money from caring neighbors in this community, all of which went right back to the community.  To encourage these donations, they put on a car show, provided free food and entertainment and staged Santa’s “cruise in” on a fire truck.  Alas, this year the weather is not cooperating.  Heavy rain is supposed to dampen this parade.  Roamin Angels will be at PG&E to collect donations, but without their classic cars and hot rods.  Santa will be there, but will not arrive on a fire truck.  There will be no band playing Christmas music and no food to liven the day.  Now the Roamin Angels need you, the community, to brave the rain and support this worthy cause.  If you can’t make PG&E, the club will still gladly accept your donation.  They meet at IHOP on Taylorville Road every Friday from 6 ’til 8 am or give them a call at 432-8449 and leave a message.  The club will thank you and some needy family will have a Christmas.
