Rock and Reels Series At Center For Arts

The newly rennovated and finally-opened Center for the Arts in Grass Valley continues to gradually provide more indoor access. They’ve now announced what’s called a “Rock ‘n Reel” film series, that starts Wednesday night, June 30th, with “Priscilla: Queen of the Desert”. Marketing Coordinator Jennifer Nobles says the series will run every other Wednesday through September 15th. Other classic rock films in the series are the Talking Heads’ “Stop Making Sense”, Prince’s “Purple Rain”, “The Last Waltz”, the Band’s farewell concert, “The Blues Brothers”, Pink Floyd’s “Live At Pompeii”, and U-2’s “Rattle and Hum”. The first two live performances were also recently featured last Thursday and Saturday…

Tickets for the films are ten-dollars and start at 7pm. The series is sponsored by the Nevada City Film Festival, which is returning on August 27th. The announcement comes on the heels of the re-opening of the Del Oro Theatre and the Sutton Cinema.
