Rollover Crash Leads to DUI Arrest

A two vehicle collision ended up with multiple injuries and a felony DUI arrest. Around 8:45 Sunday evening a 1998 Ford Expedition struck a 2015 Lexus Sedan causing the Lexus to veer off the road and the Expedition to become airborne and rollover as it slid across the freeway in Nevada City. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says that just before the accident occurred, calls were coming in about a reckless driver heading westbound on 20/49 heading towards Grass Valley. The vehicles made contact as they entered the turns under Nevada City.

The driver of the Expedition, Peter Mallory, had to extricated from his vehicle and refused treatment even though he appeared injured. The passenger in the Lexus was airlifted to Sutter Roseville with major internal injuries in serious conditions.
Mallory was determined to be under the influence and was taken in to custody for felony DUI causing great bodily injury. He transported for treatment of his injuries.
The highway was closed for about an hour as crews worked to clears the scene.

Thank you very much for telling the news on this roll over.
I was in route over the broad st and HWY 49 at
8:50 pm and saw the sene.
Knco is the only news that talked about it,even the Union does not have the story and it is 6pm the next day after the accident. Good job KNCO where the news counts.
