Grass Valley Rotary is putting on the 3rd annual Gold Country Challenge bicycle rides Saturday, May 14th. Rotary member Bob Long says that includes the Century, which is 100 miles and continues to be their most popular ride…
The half metric is a tamer ride with a lot less climbing…
Long says the riders receive great support with rest stops along the way, many of them hosted by local groups like NEO and CORR, and Sierra Express Bicycle Club. The Nevada County Triathlon Club also hosts a coffee stop.
The riders will get to ride through downtown Grass Valley and Downtown Nevada City and the Century group will also go through north San Juan.
Long says it’s a great way to promote the area as a tourist attraction as well as raise funds for Rotary Projects.
