As Nevada City celebrates the third birthday of the first police K9 Officer, Rudiger, the formation of the Rudiger Foundation has been announced. The Sean M. Walsh Foundation had been providing fiscal sponsorship for the Western Nevada County K9 Association until the Association could obtain an offical non-profit status. The Association has chosen to incorporate as the Rudiger Foundation to honor the first K9 Officer. Foundation president Joey Jordan says they intend to continue providing the necessary funding to cover the estimated $25,000 per-year expense of maintaining the program. But, through additional money they hope to raise with the new Foundation, they also want to eventually add more K9’s that would also be available to any local law enforcement agency that needs one…
