Run-Away Car and Other Accidents in Nevada City

Nevada City Police and Fire rescue units responded to a call of a run-away vehicle on Main Street in Nevada City Sunday morning at 10:44 a.m.  Crews arrived to find a single vehicle high centered on a rock retaining wall. The vehicle had rolled from a parking lot, off a ledge, through a railing, striking two street lights prior to stopping. The vehicle also ran through several tables of food and clothing being distributed to the homeless. Despite several people being in the area, no one was injured.
Also on Saturday at  1:42 p.m. Nevada City Fire , police and the CHP were dispatched to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 20 @ Highway 49. First arriving crews found a two-car collision with three victims. The victims received minor to moderate injuries and were transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Traffic was delayed for approximately 30 minutes.
Additionally at 11:55 a.m. a solo vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree on Highway 49 near Quail Creek Road. A single occupant was transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital for moderate injuries.
