Rusty Rockets Team of San Jose Takes Soap Box Derby

It was another hot day for the Nevada City Adult Soap Box Derby Saturday, but the weather didn’t seem to matter for the fans that sought out the shade or brought their own umbrellas to watch a good show.

It was the Rusty Rockets of San Jose who took first place in the speed category.

Lisa and Tim had just moved to Nevada City just up the street from the races and had no idea they were happening.

Lots of people also came from out of the area for the Nevada City Adult  Soap Box Derby races .

All proceeds from the Derby and the Kiwanis ball race go towards Kiwanis children s projects and to Pioneer Park Playground improvements.
