Sacred Fire Burns 23.3 Acres in Sierra County

A fire burning on private property spread to the Tahoe National Forest on Tuesday afternoon. Tahoe National Forest Public Affairs Officer Michael Woodbridge says they attacked with a full response because the burning acreage is in their Designated Protection Area.

The Fire grew to 23.3 acres in size and allied agencies were called in to help fight it…

Full containment of the fire was expected for today. But Woodbridge says so far the fire is still listed at 80 percent contained with 90 firefighting personnel on scene. No structures have been lost.
