Safety Upgrades For I-80 In Nevada Co Approved

More safety improvements are ahead for Interstate 80 in Nevada County. The California Transportation Commission has approved 10-point-1 million dollars to replace guardrails with concrete barriers at 11 locations, between the Donner Lake Interchange and Farad, which is not far from the Nevada State Line. There’s also a three-point-six million dollar upgrade of guardrails on a stretch of I-80, from Roseville to Cisco Grove in Placer County. Meanwhile, on a half-mile stretch, near Floristan, also near the Nevada State Line, Borrayo says a six-and-a-half million dollar project has been approved to reduce erosion and rock falls…

Borrayo says cable net drapery and an erosion control system will be installed. The projects are scheduled to begin next spring.
