Salcido says those lost funds are because they can’t ring the bells in front of the post office this year. It’s technically not allowed, and Salcido says the local postmaster decided to enforce the rule…
Salcido says they might set up on the sidewalk outside the Nevada City post office, but there’s no room in Grass Valley, because if they set up too close to the street, no one will give. Salcido says the kettle drive is vital to maintaining funding for their programs for as far as possible through next year.
