The Nevada County Animal Shelter run by the Non-profit, Sammie’s Friends, is getting ready for a big party this weekend. Sammie’s Friends Director, Cheryl Wicks says they want to celebrate their 3rd anniversary and signing of a new 5 year contract with the County to continue operating the shelter. Part of the celebration is a big adopt-a-thon Saturday.
All the dogs in the shelter are getting a bath and their kennels decorated for the party on Saturday. They have small dogs, Labs and German Shephard mixes, and their famous Pitt Bulls. Wicks says Georgie is one Pitt Bull they’d like to find a home for.
