Sand Bags Through County Emergency Services

The Nevada Office of Emergency  Services offers free sand and sandbags for residents of Nevada County.

The location of the sand and bags is next to the Nevada County Warehouse on the corner of Highway 49 and East Broad St. in Nevada City. Residents must bring a strong back and their own shovel to fill the sandbags with sand.

Officials do ask that residents only take what they plan to use for the protection of their personal property. This will enable us to continue to offer this free service.

So much for the 500-year drought. Might want to wait until May to start screaming Chicken Little. I know...for some the rain is a bummer because they were hoping to affirm that whole climate change argument so we could maybe ban humans by next Fall.
