School District Consolidation Is a Go

It was almost twenty years in the making, but the two school districts in Penn Valley are now going to be one. Wednesday night The County Committee on School Organization voted 8-0 in approval of the consolidation of Ready Springs Union School District and the Pleasant Valley Elementary School District. County Superintendent of Schools Holly Hermansen gives credit to all involved with making the consolidation happen.

The next steps include Hermansen appointing a new board for the new district which will ideally have representation from the existing boards. The new board will then hire the new superintendent- which will likely be current superintendent for both districts- Debra Sandoval.
