School District Consolidation Talks on Hold

Consolidation talks between Grass Valley School District and Nevada City Elementary School District are on hold at least until school funding becomes more clear. Grass valley Superintendent, Eric Fredrickson, says that with the uncertainty of the new local control funding formula, his Board doesn’t feel its prudent to continue discussions at this time.

Fredrickson says that the Board wants to be sure that the community understands why talks are on hold.

Fredrickson did say that the door is still open for future discussions but no action will take place until the budget is clarified.
