It’s technically Spring Break for Nevada County school kids, but principals, superintendents, and other administrators are working this week, trying to figure out the rest of the school year. With schools officially closed through the end of the year now, Nevada County Superintendent of Schools Scott Lay says they are concentrating on making the so-called distance learning programs new and meaningful…
Lay says one of the biggest hurdles is for high school seniors, and what a shortened year will mean for college….
And as far as graduation is concerned, Lay says that’s a tough one…
He says they might do that at the middle school level. Lay says he doesn’t see a problem with kids who might be moving from elementary to middle school, or middle school to high school. He says he does see more time reviewing this year’s material, when school starts for next year.
