Scotts Flat Spillway Reopens

In a unanimous vote, the Nevada Irrigation District Board has voted to immediately re-open the Scotts Flat Reservoir Spillway. It had been closed since August, due to an unusual spike in illegal activity, including camping, campfires, graffiti, trash, and jumping into the spillway. NID is forming an informal working group that includes recreational groups and community members, and public officials, to come up with a longterm solution to the problems. But Strawser says he hopes the spillway is never closed again…

NID says they hope to come up with a plan in time for the spring and summer recreation season.
