Search for Suspect Underway in Alta Sierra

A helicopter and ground search for a stolen vehicle  suspect in the Alta Sierra Area has been underway.  The gray Dodge Ram pickup that was stolen was found wrecked   on Auburn Rd. at Kiwi shortly before 8:30 this morning.  The driver of the vehicle bailed out and ran before the CHP had a chance to question him.   KNCO’s  Gary Jacobson has been on scene all morning and says they believe the suspect obtained the keys to the pick up during a home burglary.

CHP officers and Sheriff’s deputies  are continuing the search for the suspect but the CHP helicopter has been pulled off the search.

Gilbert,-NathanA person of Interest has been identified as Nathan Gilbert. 30 years of age, 5’10, 220 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes and  numerous tattoos on his neck arms and body.
