Search Resuming For Suspect Believed Dead

About exactly 6 months since a vehicle pursuit that ended with two Grass Valley-area suspects at large, the search is about to resume for one of them. The search was suspended in November, because of the deep snow in the White Cloud Campground area. Then in March, the body of the first suspect, 34-year-old Rickie Abel, was found near Scott’s Flat Lake, after she was discovered by a kayaker. She died from drowning. Royal says the search area is between White Cloud Campground and the lake, which is about a 50-square-mile area. He says there was a warrant out for Rose’s arrest and both were suspected methamphetamine users, with a significant quantity found in Abel’s blood during the autopsy…

Trails have been identified and Royal says the search will likely last a few days.
