An injury accident late Wednesday night could have been worse if the occupants were not wearing their seatbelts. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says the collision occurred just before 11:00 PM on you Bet Road. The conditions were dark and wet so the road was slick.

The vehicle went off the right side of the road hitting the dirt embankment.

The impact caused the top of the vehicle to come down on the occupants trapping the passenger in the back seat. Fire personnel arriving ahead of the CHP were able to extricate the trapped female.

Tassone sasy that it appears that it was the unsafe speed that caused the vehicle to gout of control. Drugs or alcohol do not seem to be a factor. More importantly all three occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The CHP wants to use this opportunity to remind people of the importance of wearing seatbelts because the do save lives and reduce major injuries.
