Second Arrest In Shooting Of 18-Yr-Old Youth

A second arrest has been made in a shooting incident that occurred in Grass Valley. Police Captain Steve Johnson says 18-year-old Lonte West, from Sacramento, has been taken into custody. 19-year-old Austin Thurman, who is also from the Sacramento area, was arrested about a week after the incident, which occurred October 26th. Both face attempted murder charges, among other charges. The victim was an 18-year-old Nevada County youth, whose name is not being released. Johnson says the three were not strangers to each other…

Johnson says the residents called for medical personnel, as well as law enforcement. The victim was then transported to a trauma center in Sacramento for a wound to the head. And despite the severity of the injury, Johnson says the victim is expected to fully recover.
