Second Burglary Suspect Re-Arrested in GV

The second suspect arrested for burglarizing a Bennett Street residence last week in Grass Valley was re-arrested again for different charges. Grass Valley Police on patrol in the downtown area Wednesday afternoon spotted a vehicle parked suspiciously in corner of the Safeway parking lot.

Lt Alex Gammelgard says the occupants in the vehicle attempted to avoid being stopped by the officer and a chase ensued.

The vehicle occupants then decided to try and outrun the police.*

The driver, identified as a Travis Warhurst, was charged with evading a peace officer, resisting arrest, possession of narcotics and possession of paraphernalia.

The passenger, identified as Robert Wharff. Wharff had been arrested along with a Grant McInnis last week for stealing a Shop Vac and marine air-horn from a vacant house and carrying them around in broad daylight. Coincidentally McGinnis was rearrested earlier this week on multiple theft related charges after being caught with a stolen vehicle.
Both Wharff and Warhurst were transported to the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
