Volz is the second person in the last couple of months to challenge for the Division 2 seat, currently occupied by John Drew, who is seeking another term. Volz is also concerned about how much the Centennial Dam project will benefit the local water supply…

The other candidate for the seat, Bruce Herring, is also a critic of the Centennial project. Volz, who owns Volz Brothers Automotive and also developed a vineyard, has also served on the Union Hill School Board and the Peardale Chicago Park Fire District Board. He says there’s a growing disconnect between NID management and the Board and a fresh perspective is needed. The election is in November of 2018.
