Although three years in prison was being sought by the prosecution, a Nevada County judge has delayed the sentence for a former employee convicted of embezzling a Waste Management recycling center. Gassaway was convicted of three felonies. That included falsifying invoices for redeemed recyclables amounting to over $100,000. All parties will reconvene in a Nevada County courtroom after the evaluation is completed. Gassaway’s sentence range could also include county jail and/or probation.
