September National Preparedness Month

The Federal Emergency Management Agency- FEMA-  has declared the month of September as National Preparedness Month. The goal of National Preparedness Month is to educate the public about how to prepare for emergencies, including natural disasters, mass casualties, biological and chemical threats, and terrorist attacks.
The Nevada County Office of Emergency Services encourages residents to:
Make or purchase an Emergency Kit
Make an Emergency Plan
Get involved with local community emergency preparedness organizations

The Home and Family Emergency Preparedness Center is located in the Eric Rood Administrative Center lobby in Nevada City.
