Sequester Cuts Take Effect Today

Congress was unable to move forward attempts from either party to avoid forced budget cuts and the President is on the verge of signing a directive to begin implementing the 85 billion dollars in cuts. Local Congressman Doug LaMalfa says sequestering is frustrating to everyone.

Congressman LaMalfa says a better process could have produced better results in regards to curbing government spending and reducing the deficit.

LaMalfa says, with no action taking place, The House adjourned.

The President is meeting with members of the both parties today to discuss possibilities of getting on course to make changes as the cuts are implemented over time.
