Seven men, all from out of state, have been arrested, regarding a fatal shooting incident that happened in Grass Valley last weekend. Police Captain Steve Johnson says it stems from a dispute over a marijuana transaction. They say the suspects met with the sellers last Saturday night at a home on South Ponderosa Road…
And Johnson says that sparked a car chase, as the suspects tried to flee the area with the marijuana. The cars headed toward Grass Valley on Rough and Ready Highway. Near the intersection of West Main and Alta Streets, one of the suspects fired multiple shots at the pursuing vehicle. One of the rounds struck a female passenger, who died. Her name is not available yet, but she is from the local area. The male driver was not injured. All seven people were arrested on Tuesday, at a Davis hotel, on murder charges, where 30 pounds of marijuana was seized, as well as a large stockpile of fake currency. Six suspects are from Dallas and one is from Shreveport, Louisiana. Johnson says these types of illegal transactions involving local and out-of-state residents have become increasingly common…
Johnson couldn’t say if the marijuana was grown at the home.
