Sewage Discharge Reported At Lake Wildwood

More woes for Lake Wildwood. The Nevada County Environmental Health Department is reporting that about 1,680 gallons of sewage reached the lake, on Sunday, near Chaparral Circle. There had been a power failure reported that affected all 14 of the lift/pump stations within the community for the wastewater treatment plant. All stations are equipped with backup generators. But Director Amy Irani says one station’s “level sensing equipment” did not reset when the generator kicked in, resulting in the discharge. But officials say it’s highly unlikely that the amount will affect the overall quality and condition of the lake.
