It’s been six months since the Grass Valley and Nevada City Police Departments agreed to share some services, and now that agreement is up for renewal. The Nevada City City Council will discuss the issue tonight, but staff is recommending that the agreement should continue. City Manager Dave Brennan says there’s one example in particular where it came in handy…
It’s ultimately up to the Council to decide, but Brennan says he doesn’t see a need for the agreement to be terminated anytime soon…
The main part of the agreement provides for Grass Valley officers to patrol Nevada City streets between 3 and 7am Monday through Friday. In turn, Nevada City would provide a detective to the Grass Valley department during regular business hours. The Grass Valley City Council doesn’t meet until next week. They’ll likely discuss the issue at that time.
