Nevada County’s Public Health Officer has issued his first significant modification to the coronavirus stay-at-home order, as it relates to outdoor activities. While Doctor Ken Cutler was unavailable to speak to KNCO, Public Information Officer Taylor Wolfe says notable changes include the official re-opening of golf courses. Disc golf courses can remain open, as long as the baskets aren’t touched. Tennis, pickleball, volleyball, and basketball courts are also open but can only involve people who live in the same household. Wolfe also says while using beach-type areas near rivers and lakes had been discouraged, it’s now officially sanctioned, as long as there is no overcrowding…
But playgrounds are still closed, among activities where there would be heavily-touched equipment that doesn’t belong to a specific person and also has a higher crowding potential. The modified order also includes more specific guidance for construction workers to help them further minimize exposure risk. Cutler has released a video statement.
