Royal says non-users can also use the website to help them report violators of the ordinance. Meanwhile, Royal says even with the passage of Proposition 64, which legalizes recreational marijuana use, he points out that local governments still have regulatory control, and the current ordinance already prohibits outdoor growing in residential areas, and limits indoor grows to 6 plants, which would be the limit with Proposition 64…

The Board of Supervisors is forming a community-wide committee that’s expected to help come up with a permanent ordinance sometime next year. Meanwhile, the second website being launched is the Sheriff’s Department’s official Facebook page. Royal says that’ll allow the public to keep up with breaking news, press releases, and an inside look into the operation and day to day life at the Sheriff’s Offfice.
