I am facing something that I haven’t had for a very long time.  This weekend I am working on the Shopping Show and then staying to help with the certificate pick-up portion of the show.  This means I’ll be out of the house almost all day.  No, that’s not so unusual, but since I’m gonna be busy all day My wife decided this a the perfect weekend to go to Virginia City to spend a few days with her parents.  So this morning she packed up some clothes, grabbed the dogs, and headed east.  No, this isn’t something new or different, she does this every 3 or 4 months weather permitting.  The new thing is with her and the dogs gone, and with our youngest moved out….I will have total peace and quiet for 2 whole days!

It’s been since the Carter administration that I didn’t have some sort of company in the house for 2 whole days.  Until this very second I hadn’t even thought about it in those terms.  And now I feel very old!   My only hope is the silence doesn’t  drive me mad!  I mean, other than whatever assorted noise I create….nothing.  Good thing I’m a guy and I make all sort of random noises.  Add to the mix I am taking advantage of my wife’s trip to go see the Stooges movie.  Something I know she never would have seen.  Which brings up a topic for possible Monday’s blog, Why are the Stooges so gender specific?
