Shoplifter Assaults Employee Before Fleeing Store

A store employee had witnessed McGrath put some items in her purse, but she also was observed going through the cashier and purchasing some items. When she attempted to leave,  an employee who had witnessed her prior activity attempted to stop her to retrieve the items in her purse.

At that point Lt. Gammelgard says McGrath ran from the business, but she was located hiding in an adjacent store restroom. She was arrested for felony robbery because of the attack on the employee. Lt. Gammelgard says the employee did have visible injury but declined medical treatment.
