Shopping Center Proposal Going to GV Development Review Committee

A large shopping center proposal is going to the Grass Valley Development Review Committee Tuesday morning. The proposed project would develop a large parcel of land east of the Golden Center freeway between Dorsey Drive and extending towards Idaho-Maryland Rd. The proposed site plan, 170,000 square feet of retail space including a theater and approximately another 40,000 square feet for parking. The project would require a number of changes to the city’s general plan and zoning.  According to Community Development Director, Tom Last, presenting the concept to the DRC is the first step in a long process.

Once the property owner decides to submit a formal application the City is required to process it. Which will lead to another set of actions.

Last says that ultimately the City will decide if the project gets approved, but that is a long way down the road.
The Development Review Committee meeting is Tuesday morning at City Hall beginning at 9:00 AM.
