Sierra College Gets Big Check

The Sierra College Foundation is able to provide emergency grants for students in need as a result of a generous donation. Wells Fargo BankĀ  presented the Foundation with a check for 100,000 dollars on Thursday. Foundation Executive Director Sonbol Aliabadi says part of the money will be used for an Emergency Fund to support students in financial crisis.

Aliabadi says the type of emergencies vary in severeity and occur to students at all Sierra College campuses.

Students facing a financial emergency can apply for a one-time grant of up to 500 dollars.
The Executive Director also says some of the funds from Wells Fargo will go towards establishing and supporting internships to help jumpstart Sierra College student careers.
