Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s Martinis and a Movie

By Ashlyn Rhodes

Tonight is the annual Martinis and a Movie fundraiser hosted by the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.  The evening of entertainment includes professionally mixed martinis, a social hour, popcorn, chocolate, and a movie.  This year’s movie, The Princess Bride, is a comedic fairy tale about a masked man who relentlessly pursues his true love, Princess Buttercup.

The Hospital Foundation’s Executive Director, Kimberly Parker, says proceeds from the night will go towards new equipment for the hospital.

Though the hospital already has an MRI unit, they would like to purchase a new one for their inpatient building and upgrade their current machine, which is in the outpatient center.

Tickets are available at the door, and in advance at Briar Patch, the hospital gift shop, the Hospital Foundation’s office, Mill Street Clothing, and online at BrownPaperTickets.com.  Hospital employees get a discount on ticket prices.  Drinks at the event will only be served during the social hour before the movie.  Doors of the Del Oro Theater open at 7.  This is a 21-year and older event.
