Small Vegetation Fire Threatens Homes Near Auburn

A couple of homes in Auburn were immediately threatened by a vegetation fire, but CalFire and other responders were able to contain a small blaze. CalFire Captian Nolan Hale says 9-1-1 calls started coming in after 11am from the area near on Bald Hill Road near Mount Vernon…

No structures were lost, but the blaze came very close to a couple of homes…

Hale says another dozen homes would have been at risk if the response hadn’t been so quick. Grass Valley Air Attack was used, along with two tankers, and a couple of helicopters, and about 60 personnel in all, including those on the ground.
