Smoke From Detwiler Fire Means Health Advisory

You likely know that all the smoke in Western Nevada County is not due to any local wildfire, but the massive Detwiler blaze in Mariposa County. And that’s prompted the Northern Sierra Air Quality Management District to issue a health advisory through Monday. District Executive Director Gretchen Bennett says wind direction dictates how much smoke we get. But directions tend to vary frequently, so it’s hard to say how smoky it will be over the next few days…

The District also advises against the use of bandanas, saying it makes breathing more difficult.
