Snow Creates Busy Day for CHP

Local California Highway Patrol reports that over 20 accidents causing significant delays occurred between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM on Tuesday.

The high speed areas of Highway 49 on either side of Nevada City and Grass Valley caused some of the biggest issues.

Because of accidents, snow plows had difficulties getting on to the roads and clearing snow. Jacknifed trucks also caused traffic to be stopped.

Traffic returned to relatively normal patterns by around 2:30 PM but there were still a number of cars that were abandoned or stuck on the side of the road that needed to be cleared.
