Snowpack Still Mostly Intact

For the second year in a row, a snowpack survey has been conducted for May in the Sierra, the last one of the season. The State Department of Water Resources says the snowpack has only dropped a few inches from a month ago. But in the Northern ranges, the water content is still at 199% of average, compared to 147% of average for the April survey. Meanwhile, looking at reservoir levels…it’s 91% of average at Lake Oroville, 74% of capacity. It’s still 109% of average at Lake Shasta, or 94% of capacity.
