Sobriety Checkpoint Nets One D-U-I Arrest

A weekend sobriety checkpoint in downtown Grass Valley has resulted in one arrest. The checkpoint was held on Colfax Avenue near Henderson Street Saturday night. Tassone says officers began pursuit and also saw the driver run a stop sign. He was finally stopped at a parking lot near the freeway. Tassone says that was the only drunk-driving related incident of the night…

Except for that one incident. 26 year-old Cody Vess was arrested…

Tassone says Vess’ blood-alcohol level was three times the legal limit. In a separate incident, there was one traffic citation issued for a moving violation.
