Solar Energy Ruling Favorable For Users

Homeowners and businesses installing rooftop solar panels in California can keep offsetting their energy bills by sending surplus power back to the grid. New guidelines approved by the State Public Utilities Commission add fees to future solar users, but they fall short of what utility companies, like PG and E, sought to charge customers for their use of the grid. Future solar customers will pay up to 150 dollars in a onetime fee for connecting to a utility company’s grid and up to 10 dollars each month. Existing customers are not affected.
