Some churches in Nevada County are not ready to reopen, even with the state’s okay. Ron Thompson, the lead pastor of one of the largest congregations, Twin Cities Church, on Rough and Ready Highway, says they’re going to wait until at least the three-week trial period ends, or by Father’s Day, when it’s hoped coronavirus guidelines will be even less strict…

But the interim pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley, Bill Wong, says they have no reopening date at this time, with most of their members being elderly and with underlying health conditions…

Meanwhile, Saint Patrick’s Church in Grass Valley is hoping to reopen in time for services next Sunday, but still needs to get their bishop’s permission.
