South County Barn Destroyed by Fire

Cal Fire was alerted to a fire in South County at 5:31 a.m. Sunday morning in the 24-thousand block of Gautier Dr. just off of Highway 49 and Rincon Way. Cal Fire Captain John Byrne says the 8,000 square foot barn was 75 percent involved when firefighters arrived.  The barn was being used for storage, no animals were housed in it.   Many different resources responded including Cal Fire, Placer County Fire Department, Placer Hills Fire Department, and Nevada County Consolidated Fire.

Firefighters kept the blaze from spreading into the nearby brush  and it was contained at 6:57 a.m.

The Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
