South County Outage Affects 13-Hundred Customers

Power is back on now, but over 13-hundred customers in southern Nevada County were in the dark yesterday (Monday) afternoon, with some not getting their electricity back until about 2 o’clock this morning. P-G-and-E spokesman Paul Moreno says a tree fell into some power lines around 1:30pm, and also damaged some power poles…

The outage affected Alta Sierra and many areas along the Highway 49 corridor into Placer County, but 73 customers along Limke Kiln Road had to wait through the night. Moreno says it still hasn’t been determined why the tree fell, but there will be an investigation.
