South Yuba Canal Reopens

Water is finally flowing again from the South Yuba Canal and regular deliveries have resumed. In a story we did late last month, the Nevada Irrigation District said winter storm damage repairs would be completed around early June. The District has issued another press release thanking its customers for their voluntary cutbacks. Customers were requested to reduce water use by as much as 25%, when repairs to the canal, damaged in February, had been slowed by spring rain storms. The District also praised PG and E crews for putting in the long hours and hard work. The utility owns and operates the canal.
