South Yuba River Park Parking Lot Still Closed

While recreational areas in and near South Yuba River State Park re-opened recently, the parking lot remains closed. That’s due to hill instability from slides that occurred during winter storms. But Chief Ranger Matt Green says, weather permitting, crews hope to begin work, around April first, toward reopening it…

Green says the earliest the lot for the popular recreation area will re-open will be in the second or third week of April. But it could be May, depending on weather conditions. The lot was closed around the first week of February. Earlier this month, the eastern end access to Independence Trail re-opened.
